Adolph Tandler: The Orchestral Manual for Orchestra Players
Compiled from experience under the direction of nearly every distinguished conductor of a decade
U. S. A. [Los Angeles]: Adolph Tandler 1946
Arnold Schönberg Center, Vienna
My dear friend Schönberg.
I am sending you, your dear wife, and your family, my warmest and most heartfelt wishes for Christmas and the coming New Year. – I hope you are all healthy and doing well in beautiful California, and you are still finding a little time – like I am – to enjoy playing tennis from time to time. – Please allow me to enclose my little book for your kind perusal. It bears the fruits of my lifelong experience in orchestras and is hopefully useful for young musicians.
I would be very happy to hear your esteemed opinion and would be pleased to receive a few lines ... at a favorable moment.
Sending you my thanks and respects
Your devoted, old friend
Adolph Tandler
